Services for the disabled.
All four venues that the Wharton Center services have wheelchair accessible seating and restrooms as well as barrier free parking. To purchase wheelchair accessible seats and/or request wheelchair pick-up please contact the box office at 1-800-WHARTON so we can assist you.
Performances at the Wharton Center also offer:
- Wheelchair pick up in the parking ramp (usher comes out and assists you to your seat.)
- We offer a limited number of wheelchairs for your use (extra wide also available.)
- Elevators that can assist you to seats on the right side of the Orchestra level and to the Grand Tier where we also have seats without any steps (Grand Tier row C.)
- Wheelchair ticket window.
- Audio Description for visually impaired patrons (special arrangements must be requested) available for Sunday matinee Broadway performances only. This service allows blind and visually impaired patrons to hear the program notes, followed by a description of the visual elements taking place on stage through a FM receiver. Listeners will hear a description of actions, body language, lights, costumes, scenery and other aspects of the production not conveyed by voices and sounds from the stage. A minimum of four weeks in advance please.
- Sign Language Interpreted performances are available on Sunday matinee Broadway performances only upon request. SL interpreters enable patrons who are hearing impaired to perceive spoken theatrical content. A minimum of four weeks in advance please.
- Phonic Ear, assisted listening device available for Great Hall and Pasant Theatre performances.

Barrier Free Parking
Barrier free parking is available for patrons with disabilities on all levels of the Wharton Center ramp. Access to level 2 (Wharton entrance) is available by elevators from all levels. Wheelchair pick-up at Wharton Center is only available on level 2, Shaw Rd. entrance ONLY.
Designated surface level barrier free parking is offered for performances held at the MSU Auditorium and Fairchild Theatre. There are limited spaces on the river side (south side) of the Auditorium and additional barrier free spaces across the street from the venue on Auditorium Rd. Wheelchair patrons being dropped off should do so on the river side (south side) of the venue where the barrier free entrance is located. Any patrons needing special assistance can call 1-800-WHARTON for additional information.
