Take It From The Top

Take It From The Top is a series of interactive workshops taught by working Broadway professionals who have a passion for providing training and perspective for those interested in pursuing a professional career in musical theatre as well as those just looking to have fun with performing arts.
Participants learn the craft of musical theatre with basic to advanced skills, industry history and practical content in an exciting, fast-moving, interactive setting.
Everyone is a student of the arts and can find their own unique voice through music, dance, and theatre. Take It From The Top offers participants a chance to experience Broadway with the pros. Learn, work and sharpen your skills in a creative and fun environment. If you ever wanted to be on a Broadway stage, now is your chance to perform and pick the brains of the people who are doing it!
Laura Bell Bundy & Paul Canaan
Workshops are taught by Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde: The Musical, Hairspray, WICKED) and Paul Canaan (Legally Blonde: The Musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, La Cage Aux Folles, Miss Saigon, Thoroughly Modern Millie), and a team of working Broadway professionals from New York City.

DANCER’S WORKSHOP
AGES: Teen through adult dancersWednesday, January 14, 2009, 6:00 to 9:30 p.m.
The workshop will feature an exploration of Broadway dance styles and current trends in musical theatre dance, along with insights from the Take It From The Top team into how to navigate a dance audition for a Broadway musical. There will be ample time for questions and discussion throughout the workshop.
ADULTS – MUSIC / DANCE / THEATRE WORKSHOP
AGES: Ages 18 or olderThursday, January 15, 2009, 6:00 to 9:30 p.m.
An ideal opportunity for adults of all skill levels to discover their inner performer with an evening of dancing, singing and acting exercises with the Take It From The Top team.
TEENS – MUSIC / DANCE / THEATRE WORKSHOP
AGES: Grades 9 through 12Three-Day Workshop:
Thursday, January 15, 2009, 6:00 to 9:30 p.m.
Friday, January 16, 2009, 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 17, 2009, 12:00 - 5:00 p.m., Public recital 7:00-9:00 p.m.
During this three-day workshop, participants will explore dancing, singing and acting with an eye towards a recital on Saturday night.

Parental permission is required for participants under 18 years old.
A $5 per night parking fee for the Wharton Center parking ramp is not included with the registration fee. Parents are encouraged to drop off and pick up their child at the southeast corner of the Wharton Center parking ramp.
A complete registration packet must be mailed to Wharton Center by Wednesday January 5, 2009 or the registration will be cancelled.
