Shakespeare Immersion Project Free Recital

Enjoy a free, open-to-the-public recital on Friday, November 1, of the next generation of great Shakespearean actors—who are local high school and middle school students.

Wharton Center’s Shakespeare Immersion Project provides Michigan students the rare opportunity to work with professionals from the renowned Stratford Festival for an entire week. With the help of the Stratford actors/teaching artists, this annual program focuses on text analysis, language exploration, character development with a variety of theatre activities and movement exercises. Through reflective writing exercises, students gain an in-depth educational experience. Their work culminates in a performance of an abridged version of Hamlet on Wharton Center’s Pasant Theatre stage on November 1 at 8pm.

This year, the following schools are represented in the program:

Insight School of Michigan – Lansing
Morey Flextech High School – Shepherd
Dansville High School – Dansville
