Some nights are more than concerts, they are milestones. This is one of them. As we celebrate Maestro Muffitt’s incredible 20-year journey with LSO, we do so with music that speaks to legacy and possibility. Jon Nakamatsu performs Rachmaninoff’s Variations on a Theme by Paganini, a piece that blends brilliance with a touch of mischief. We then premiere a brand-new work by LSO Composer-in-Residence Jared Miller—because the best way to honor the past is to embrace the future. And finally, Respighi’s Pines of Rome, a symphonic poem that rises, swells, and shines just like the city it was inspired by. A fitting way to mark the end of an era and the beginning of whatever comes next.
