Seats 4 Kids
Experiencing the performing arts is about much more than being entertained. The arts have the power to teach, to inspire, to unify, and truly transform individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Time and time again, research shows that young people who are engaged in the arts do better in school and are more involved in their communities.
Seats 4 Kids is a scholarship fund established by Wharton Center to provide free tickets to local youth who could not otherwise afford to attend a performing arts event. Contributions provide tickets to economically–disadvantaged children through local community service organizations and Title 1 schools.
All recipient organizations have submitted formal applications approved by Wharton Center management. View the Recipient Application and FAQs. Participating organizations are not–for–profit 501©(3) organizations or Title 1 schools offering programs focused on economically–disadvantaged youth. The quantity and frequency of scholarship tickets is based on available funding.
Contributions to the Seats 4 Kids scholarship fund of $100 or more will be acknowledged in Wharton Center’s Curtain Call house program for the season in which the tax–deductible donation occurs. You also receive an invitation to Wharton Center’s annual donor appreciation concert and a subscription to the Beyond the Stage newsletter.
Beyond our Seats 4 Kids Scholarship Fund, Wharton Center offers meaningful educational programming for learners of all ages through the MSU Federal Credit Union Institute for Arts and Creativity. Support the Institute’s work with a gift to the Arts Education Fund at Wharton Center.
Please remember donations to Seats 4 Kids do not qualify for Wharton Center’s seating priority system.
